Tony Ferguson turned back the clock earlier today (Sat., Aug. 30, 2025) at Misfits Boxing 22 LIVE on DAZN inside AO Arena in Manchester, England, as the former UFC lightweight contender stopped social media influencer Salt Papi with a devastating comeback knockout.
While Ferguson has combat experience for days he wasn’t expected to steamroll Salt Papi on Saturday. That’s because “El Cucuy” is 41 years old and was riding an eight-fight losing streak. It was up to Ferguson to prove his doubters wrong
and capture his first combat win since 2019 (a TKO finish over Donald Cerrone). Salt Papi was looking to play spoiler, ruin Ferguson’s official Misfits Boxing debut, and walk off with the biggest win of his young career.
Unfortunately for Salt Papi, Ferguson eventually proved that there are levels in combat sports and that experience, durability, and toughness can still reign supreme. After two rounds that saw Ferguson struggle to take control and land big shots, “El Cucuy” eventually wore Salt Papi down and unloaded a huge combination along the ropes. Salt Papi looked like a punching bag as Ferguson landed at will and forced the referee’s hand.
