Everton have announced the transfer of striker Beto to Fiorentina in the Serie A. He will be replacing another former Evertonian Moise Kean at the Viola and had his medical in Florence yesterday.
Though the the transfer fee was not disclosed, it is rumoured to be in the £15 million range with add-ons included. Everton have negotiated a deal with AS Monaco to sign his replacement in Folarin Balogun.
The Toffees’ current #9 leaves having played 113 times, scoring 25 goals with 3 assists since joining
the Blues in the summer of 2023.
Beto leaves the club on good terms with the fanbase, who have always appreciated his wears-his-heart-on-a-sleeve playing style. Whatever criticisms we may have had about his ball control and finishing, no one can ever accuse him of not giving his full effort when out on the pitch wearing the royal blue shirt.
Good luck to you Beto, and thank you for the joy you brought us over the last three years!
