Harry Kane scored a brace during England’s 4-2 win over Croatia on Wednesday and after the match, the Bayern Munich striker was touted by Three Lions head coach Thomas Tuchel.
Of course, the duo had a relationship from their time together at Bayern Munich, but Tuchel is still amazed by Kane, his approach, and the effort he puts out for every game.
“If you see the commitment of our captain, of our No 9 in the extra time, to block a crucial shot after a set-piece with all his body and his commitment to buy
into a defensive action like this then you know everything about his performance today,” Tuchel said after the match (as captured by The Heavy). “A complete performance. Absolute leader. He’s all in. Physically, mentally. It’s the full package at the moment,” Tuchel added. “He wants it and he leads by example, so we’re very happy.”
It is tough for any one player to carry a team to a World Cup — it takes a group of players who remain dedicated to the cause and willing to do whatever it takes. However, with the way Kane is going this season, it would not be surprising to see him just put the whole nation of England on his shoulders.
