Lead Rumor: TNA talent deals
TNA just held its biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory, and the event got relatively positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Then the Hardy Boyz were given creative control, and all seems to be going well for Carlos Silva and co.
Unfortunately, however, Fightful Select brings word that there are a number of talent contracts that are coming up over the next couple of months. During a recent meeting at a television taping, Silva spoke to the roster and made clear they hope to get “a lot of these
deals done in the coming weeks.”
Silva wants to plan ahead from a creative perspective, so they want to start nailing down new contracts sooner rather than later.
Per the report, many of the contracts come due in December, so there’s time for the company to get this all sorted.
Other rumors floating around
- During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said WWE is getting $150 million for doing WrestleMania next year in Saudi Arabia. Apparently they usually get $55 million for the other PLEs.
- Meanwhile, Meltzer is continuing to caution everyone on AEW and its television future, saying no one knows anything right now and likely won’t for another few months at the very least.
- According to Bryan Alvarez, R-Truth “appears to be all right and will be evaluated next week” for his injury on SmackDown last week. There aren’t any details beyond that.
- Per the Daily Update, “the belief is Kairi Sane is waiting for her visa to come in regarding AEW.” So until that is resolved, she won’t be coming in, even if she is doing Jericho’s Cruise.
- The Observer notes that Ilja Dragunov was kept off WWE TV because he wasn’t going to sign a new deal, and now obviously he’s in AEW.
