Bayern Munich recently lost the race for Anthony Gordon to FC Barcelona, and is reportedly still on the market, under certain conditions.
A report captured by @iMiaSanMia says that Bayern will only consider entering the market for a new centre-back if Min-jae Kim and/or Hiroki Itō were to leave the club. While names such as Yann Aurel Bisseck have been linked to a move, they are currently not concrete targets for the hierarchy.
Instead, the absolute priority for the club is to sign a left winger who
possesses the versatility to play in other attacking positions. The leadership is looking for a player who still has potential to develop and who would cost less than Anthony Gordon. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are currently evaluating several candidates to fill this role as part of their long-term squad strategy.
This approach shows a shift in strategy from the Bayern board. By prioritizing a versatile winger over defensive reinforcements, the club is clearly betting on the current stability of their backline but still looking to inject fresh, cost-effective creativity into the final third.
Will these strategic moves be enough to push the team to the next level next season? Let us know in the comments!
