Many would believe the Falcons were favorites to win the NFC South from 2023 to 2025. They arguably had the most talented roster in the division. Their skill position group was prolific. The offensive line was largely solidified. They possessed enough difference-makers defensively. Despite all the personnel advantages, they fell short in all three seasons.
Disappointing quarterback play and questionable coaching were considered the biggest reasons behind their shortcomings. It forced the organization
to start fresh and enter a transition year with minimal expectations. Those expectations have changed since Week 3, after the Falcons beat two playoff teams convincingly from last season and humiliated their biggest rivals in primetime.
There is growing buzz that the Falcons can end their dreaded playoff drought. While they still face several major challenges on the schedule, no NFC South team looks more stable than them. A win against Tampa Bay would put them in an excellent position to take more control of the division and raise expectations even higher. Many fans believe they should be expected to win the NFC South with a road victory.
It’s been a rollercoaster season for the Falcons, filled with adversity and excitement. For all the personnel setbacks and frustration over certain decisions, Kevin Stefanski’s team continues to play inspired football. They are unified, resilient, and violent. Teams are in for a battle when they face them. It’s why the fans are largely happy about the team’s direction.
