Earlier this week, we published our latest SB Nation Reacts survey, sponsored by the folks at FanDuel Sportsbook, and asked Detroit Lions fans two questions:
- Will the Lions beat the Bills in Week 2? (weekly question)
- Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction? (recurring poll)
Confidence dipped ahead of Week 2 after the Lions stumbled late in the game vs. the Saints and needed overtime to secure the win, but the majority of fans are doing their best not to overreact to a single September game. That confidence dip has also carried over to the game predictions survey, as most fans expect the Lions to struggle in Buffalo
on Thursday night.

Best of “right direction” comments:
- presde: “Very confident. I know everyone talks about the Lions’ escape, but the physicality in the trenches was back. All the mistakes will get cleaned up, and if this team stays healthy, who knows how far they go.”
- Xlgrev: “Extremely confident. This is how the modern NFL typically goes. There are rarely blowout wins, and each game has swings of momentum. The good teams figure out a way to win and the not so good teams (Packers) figure out a way to lose.”
Best of “Week 2” prediction comments:
- Oldmanlion: “My heart always says yes. My head… it’s going to be tough.”
- Justwantwins: “I suspect this game will come down to whoever has the ball last”
- critical perspective: “I don’t have this one going our way. Hope I am wrong!”
- DetroitBrickSquad: “I mean probably not, but I voted yes anyway. GO LIONS.”
- Canislupus: “I hope the Lions can keep it close and show improvement on both sides of the ball against a much better opponent and on the road, but frankly, it’s hard to imagine them winning […] On the bright side, if this turns out to be a well-played and competitive game, then I might start dreaming of a Bills-Lions Super Bowl and a guaranteed ending to one of the droughts.”
