Eberl says early talks are normal (DAZN via @iMiaSanMia_GER)
There is lot of uncertainty for Bayern Munich when it comes to its backline for next season.
Dayot Upamecano is being linked to a multitude of teams and Kim Min-jae has been loosely rumored to be open to a move as well. Given that, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl’s rumored talks with the representatives for Crystal Palace center-back Marc Guéhi are completely normal.
“That we as Bayern Munich are sounding out the market is completely clear. Our clear goal is to extend with Upamecano.
That is our very big goal. If that doesn’t work out, we must prepare ourselves,” said Eberl. “We would be foolish if we didn’t do that. That’s the reason. I’m not confirming anything, but we are active in the market.”
There could be movement soon on Upamecano. It seems doubtful that Bayern Munich wants to see this extend into January, when it becomes open season for Upamecano to talk to other clubs. If the Bavarians are going to relax their stances on a signing bonus and a release clause, it will have to be relatively soon.
Inter eyeing Upamecano (Sempre Inter)
Another day, another club lobbing interest in Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano. This time, it is Inter Milan who could potentially make a move for the Frenchman:
Among the targets are Nathan Aké, who could leave Manchester City in search of more minutes ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Dutchman is under contract until 2027.
However, he has struggled for regular time under Pep Guardiola. Inter face competition from Juventus and Crystal Palace, where another name on the Nerazzurri list, Marc Guehi, is playing.
Other profiles under consideration include Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich), whose renewal talks have stalled. Serie A options include Mario Gila (Lazio), Oumar Solet (Udinese) and Tiago Gabriel (Lecce).
Upamecano has suitors — no doubt. Will any of them be able to convince Upamecano to wait until January to decide his future? Things could get tense…

City, Madrid could make move for Szoboszlai (ESPN)
Manchester City and Real Madrid are both interested in Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai:
Manchester City and Real Madrid are interested in Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, Diario AS reports. Both clubs are reported to be “closely monitoring” the 25-year-old’s situation, who has directly contributed to six goals in 15 matches across all competitions so far this season. Szoboszlai has a contract at Anfield that runs until 2028, and the reigning Premier League champions are keen to commit him to a new deal to avoid reaching next summer with only two years left on his current terms. As such, they are willing to increase his €135,000-a-week wage as a reward for his recent performances, and to ward off other clubs.
A few years ago, Szoboszlai was on Bayern Munich’s list of targets, but that ship seems to have sailed.
Kimmich taking one step at a time with Germany (Welt am Sonntag via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich star and German national team captain Joshua Kimmich does not want to think too far ahead about Germany’s chances at the World Cup — if it qualifies (which most expect the team to do):
“I think the World Cup title isn’t really within our grasp right now, because we know we have to qualify first. Everyone has to be aware of that. I’ve often said that the road to a title doesn’t begin with the first group game, but long before that. It’s nice when everyone has the title as their goal, but we should focus on the next games for now.”
For Kimmich, the pain of being eliminated in a tournament with Germany is something that always lingers.
“For me, playing for Germany is the greatest joy. But when you get eliminated in a tournament, it’s a bitter experience; especially because that was the second time in a row that we were eliminated in the group stage of a World Cup. Over the years, I’ve learned to assess things better and deal with success and failure better. As a person, I don’t make my well-being so dependent on that anymore. Nevertheless, the inner drive to be successful is present everyday: in training, in matches, at a tournament. But again: first we have to qualify for the World Cup,” said Kimmich.

Real looking closely at Van de Ven (ESPN)
Real Madrid could be contemplating making a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven:
Real Madrid hold a “genuine interest” in Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven, according to TEAMtalk. Spurs have no intention of losing the 24-year-old leave — who hit the headlines this week for his stunning solo goal against FC Copenhagen — but the door could be opened if they fail to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, with Paris Saint-Germain also closely monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, Footmercato reports that Bayern Munich center back Dayot Upamecano is Real Madrid’s priority for the summer and already has a verbal agreement to join Los Blancos as a free agent. The report adds that the 27-year-old has a contract extension offer from Bayern and is being closely monitored by Paris Saint-Germain. Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté still wants to join Real Madrid, is also being monitored by PSG and has an offer to extend his contract at Anfield past the summer but is no longer Los Blancos’ priority.
To be honest, Van de Ven would be an excellent fit at Bayern Munich as a center-back, but there is no shot the Bavarians will pay for him in the summer or any time in the foreseeable future.
LFC, Gunners, Chelsea all want Yıldız (ESPN)
Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea could all be in the running for Juventus star and former Bayern Munich academy player Kenan Yıldız:
Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea would all be interested in signing Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz if the opportunity arises, according to TEAMtalk, although they add that the Bianconeri expect him to stay. There could be a chance that the 20-year-old moves as his current wage equates to around £25,000 per week and he is looking for a pay rise that could quadruple that figure. Even so, Yildiz is keen to stay and negotiations will continue when Juventus have appointed a new sporting director.
Yıldız is starting to look more and more like “the one that got away” for Bayern Munich.
