The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Monday night’s game against the Washington Commanders.
As expected, left tackle Josh Simmons (personal) will not play. Neither will right
guard Trey Smith (back), wide receiver Jalen Royals, cornerback Kristian Fulton, tight end Jared Wiley, running back Elijah Mitchell and defensive end Malik Herring.
In Saturday’s final injury report, Simmons was declared out after missing all three of this week’s practices. Smith also missed all of this week’s workouts, but was listed as doubtful for the game.
On Monday, Kansas City elevated guard C.J. Hanson and defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu from the practice squad to the active roster. As elevated players, they will automatically be returned to the team’s practice squad after the game. Both are active for the contest.
This is Tuipulotu’s third and final practice squad elevation. If Kansas City wants him active for another game, he’ll have to be signed to the active roster.
The Commanders have also released their list of inactives.
As we anticipated, quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring ) and tight end Colson Yankoff (hamstring) will not play. Neither will placekicker Matt Gay (back), cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, linebacker Ale Kaho, tackle Trent Scott or tackle George Fant.
But defensive tackle Daron Payne (toe) will play against the Chiefs.
Daniels and Yankoff were both listed as out on Friday, while Gay and Payne were shown as questionable.
The Commanders have elevated defensive tackle Sheldon Day and placekicker Matthew Wright from their practice squad for the matchup. Both will dress for the game.
