Commanders receiver Treylon Burks was designated as questionable to play Sunday night’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a foot injury. That’s especially notable for Washington’s first game without Terry McLaurin, who suffered a season-ending torn patellar tendon against the 49ers.
While Antonio Williams will see an increased snap count and target share, Burks is the presumptive replacement at the X receiver position. Not having him against the Eagles would be a setback and force the unspectacular
Dyami Brown into increased action.
Burks was among four Commanders listed as questionable. Tight end John Bares (shoulder), defensive lineman Johnny Newton (pectoral) — he’s technically still on IR — and defensive tackle Daron Payne (foot) are also questionable.
Payne showed up on the injury report for the first time on Friday, which is never a good sign and implies that he got hurt during practice. While he isn’t the dominant force he once was, losing Payne for any stretch of time would be a significant blow.
Defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw (knee) was ruled out of Sunday night’s game, as expected.
The Eagles will be without linebacker Jihad Campbell and receivers Davonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, though running back Saquon Barkley will be available, per they
