While the biggest news of the weekend is no doubt the conclusion of the World Series, with the Los Angeles Dodgers winning their second championship in as many years in an 11-inning nail-biter, there was a more exciting bit of news on the Tigers’ front.
Tigers’ catcher Dillon Dingler, who had an incredible breakout season in 2025, was rewarded for his efforts with a Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Sunday, recognizing his incredible work behind the plate this season. The Gold Glove Award announcements
also signal the start of Award season, which kicks into high gear after the end of the World Series. The Silver Slugger Awards will be announced later this week on November 6 and 7. The Rookie of the Year honors will be announced on November 10th, Manager of the Year on the 11th, Cy Young on the 12th, and wrapping up with the MVP titles on November 13th. So lots to look forward to over the coming two weeks.
For now, we’ll hit the highlights of the World Series, Dingler’s win (which we’ll give its own post to!), and some other weekend highlights.
