Forget your lust for the rich man’s gold
All that you need is in your Dots
- It can be challenging or fun to come up with fresh topics at this point in the off-season. I tip my cap to Christian Caple, who comes up with fun and interesting ideas for posts all year. His most recent post is a lineup of the best UW football team of the post-Chris Peterson era. With a team that popped up to make a run to the National Championship Game, it’s no surprise that we see lots of players from the 2023 squad. Still, there were some defensive greats during the forgettable Jimmy Lake era, and there are even some players still on the team and could make their positions even stronger.
- In Track and Field, UW has become one of the top programs in the country, especially in longer distance running. The Dawgs made their mark in another event over the weekend at the Outdoor Nationals in Eugene. Sofia Cosculluela, a native of Madrid, won the National Championship in the heptathalon. It was the first time UW ever won the championship in that event. Cosculluela’s triumph helped the Huskies to an excellent team performance, finishing 7th in the overall standings.
- Elsewhere at the meet, poll vault superstars Hana and Amanda Moll continued their utter domination of the entire sport. While Hana had the momentum going into the meet and recently set the national record, it was Amanda who was better on this day and took the gold.
- The Huskies have done so well in building their ‘27 recruiting class early that they can already start to look ahead at the ‘28 class. One major target in that class will be O’Dea OL Kyler Harden, who is currently ranked as the #3 prospect in the class from Washington. Harden talked to Dawgman about his early recruiting and his plans for his junior season.
