The Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots are set to kick off in around 90 minutes, which means that each team has declared its official inactive list for the game. The 4-0 Bills are the NFL’s last
unbeaten team, as the Philadelphia Eagles took their first L of the season earlier this afternoon when they lost to the Denver Broncos. If the Bills are going to leave tonight’s game as the NFL’s only unbeaten team, they’ll need to do so down a few players.
Head coach Sean McDermott had already declared two players out, but one of those players, cornerback Dorian Strong, was placed on injured reserve on Friday afternoon. The team signed linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo from the practice squad to take Strong’s place on the 53-man roster. Thanks to those roster moves, Strong won’t appear on tonight’s inactive list. With two other practice squad call-ups, though, the Bills had to list seven players as inactive tonight.
Here is the complete list of inactive players for the Bills this evening.
_____________________________________________________________________________
WR Elijah Moore
Last week, it was Curtis Samuel making his season debut. This week, Samuel is back in the lineup, and it’s Moore’s turn to take a healthy scratch.
OT Chase Lundt
Spencer Brown is back in the lineup this week, so Lundt will remain inactive. Ryan Van Demark, who started in Brown’s place last Sunday, will reprise his role as swing tackle.
DT Ed Oliver
While the big man did practice in a limited capacity this week, he still isn’t quite ready, so Oliver is inactive once again. Phidrian Mathis and Zion Logue were each called up from the practice squad, and both players will suit up this week. EDGE Landon Jackson is active for the first time, so he’ll make his debut this week in rotation with the rest of Buffalo’s defensive ends.
DT T.J. Sanders
The rookie popped up on the injury report with a knee issue this week, and he’ll miss the game. Zion Logue was called up from the practice squad for the third and final time. If the Bills want him to play in another game, they’ll need to sign him to the 53-man roster.
LB Dorian Williams
After starting in place of an injured Matt Milano for the last two games, Williams is out with an injury of his own. Milano, though, is back, so No. 58 will start next to Terrel Bernard.
DB/RET Brandon Codrington
For the second straight week, the Bills will list their primary returner as a healthy scratch. Last week, it was Curtis Samuel returning kicks with Khalil Shakir handling punt return duties. This week, those roles are undetermined at present.
DB Jordan Hancock
Buffalo’s versatile rookie is a healthy scratch once again, as the Bills need to keep Ja’Marcus Ingram active as a backup to Christian Benford and Tre’Davious White given that Dorian Strong is now on injured reserve.
