VfB Stuttgart star and German international Deniz Undav had quite a season.
The 29-year-old attacker registered 25 goals and 14 assists in 46 games across all competitions for Die Schwaben and has likely earned himself a raise and a contract extension from VfB Stuttgart.
VfB Stuttgart lost the DFB-Pokal finale 3-0 to Bayern Munich and afterward Undav was asked who he thought would be the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or. Undav had a Bayern Munich players on his mind, but maybe not the one you might
think.
“I’m more inclined towards (Michael) Olise. I mean both (Olise, Harry Kane) would deserve it, but I’m more for Olise,” Undav said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The race between Kane and Olise is a fun, theoretical exercise, but the World Cup could play a big role in who wins the trophy. With both England (Kane) and France (Olise) as some of the favorites to win the World Cup, both players have a chance to be in position to make their case for the award.
