We are all moving onward to the 2026 college football season, and in the dead of winter, that means we are looking at early point spreads. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish open the season with a Shamrock
Series game inside the home of the Green Bay Packers, Lambeau Field, to take on the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Badgers are having a tough couple of years under head coach Luke Fickell, while the Irish are currently the betting odds favorite to win the national championship next season at +650. This is reflected by the current opening line by FanDuel Sportsbook. Currently the Irish are -16.5 against Wisconsin, but opened at -19.5. That nearly 20 point spread was destined to drop quickly, and it did, but there’s still a long way to go from here to week one of the college football season.
While we know the Irish will take on Wisconsin to start the season on Sunday, September 6, we still don’t have a start time for the NBC/Peacock broadcast.
