What is the story about?

The Detroit Lions have declared their inactives ahead of their Week 5 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, and starting defensive tackle Tyleik Williams was NOT among the players listed.

Williams exited Week 4 in a walking boot but told the media it was only precautionary. He missed practice on Wednesday—which is common for players injured in the previous game—returned to limited practices the rest of the week, and carried a questionable designation into the game. Despite his status being questionable,

he is expected to start this game, giving the Lions’ defensive interior a big boost.

“He’s such a good athlete, and he’s powerful. He’s powerfully strong, and he really has a heightened sense of awareness for football. His FBI [football intelligence] is way up there,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said. “And so, when you combine all those with a guy who’s going in his second year and has just taken off—he really took off by the end of the year, and he picked up where he left off, had a really good camp and four games in, he is continuing to climb.”
