It’s not very often that two football clubs face each other twice in a week, but after squaring off in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 on Tuesday, Roma and Torino are back at it again today. Only this time, the circumstances and the location have changed. Rather than battling to advance into the latter stages of Italy’s cup competition, Roma heads to the other Stadio Olimpico today with far greater stakes.
Pitched in a seven-team battle for Italy’s four Champions League places, Roma was granted a lifeline
on Saturday when Cagliari upset Juventus 1-0 in Sardinia. Thanks to the Islanders’ victory over the Old Lady, Roma has a chance to move back into sole possession of fourth place with a win over Torino. And with two new attacking options at their disposal, Roma should ready, willing and able to make quick work of the Toros today.
