Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Timberwolves fans and fans across the country.
Everyone who’s watched Coach Carter most likely remembers this moment. Early on in the story, Coach Ken Carter pulls Timo Cruz before he subs in the game to ask him a critical question, to which Cruz has no answer for.
Yes. This is your chance to roleplay this moment.
As a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, we are all full of fears. Is it that
the Wolves are inadequate, or that they’re powerful beyond measure? Or maybe it’s that TJ Shannon never develops a right hand. What would you say your single greatest concern of this upcoming season?
The concerns that I added as options are the usual suspects. Last season, Anthony Edwards missed 22 games which definitely impacted their final postseason seeding, but were relatively healthy as a team. This year, the Wolves are fairly thin in the frontcourt after jettisoning Julius Randle and Naz Reid. Another potential issue could be the overall defense due to their lack of “muscle.” Other critics have pointed out the Wolves losing former Sixth Man of the Year, Naz Reid, thus severely hurting the bench minutes.
Perhaps the most scary thing would be if Minnesota win too many games. Outside of the 2003-04 and 2023-24 seasons, the Wolves haven’t really been atop the league. However, if they do that again, it could be scary to see how the world react. The “big network” talking heads certainly would have a field day trying to balance their anti-Minnesota agendas, yet hyping up highlight machines in LaMelo Ball and Edwards.
Is there another concern that you have which isn’t listed, such as Tim Connelly signing a certain starting point guard of the Shanghai Sharks? Feel free to drop it in the comments.
