16 wrestlers were chosen at random by WWE to compete in The Last Time Is Now Tournament to see who gets to fight John Cena in his retirement match next month at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This week’s
episodes of Raw and SmackDown collectively featured the first four opening round matches of the tournament. The winners who advanced to round two include LA Knight, Jey Uso, Rusev, and Sheamus. The losers sent packing were Zack Ryder, The Miz, Damian Priest, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
The opening round concludes next week with four more matches. Coming into tonight, we already knew that the Nov. 17 episode of Raw features GUNTHER versus Je’Von Evans and Solo Sikoa against a mystery star. The final names in the field were revealed by WWE a short while ago on SmackDown. Next Friday night (Nov. 21) it will be Penta vs. Finn Balor and Carmelo Hayes vs. Bronson Reed.
Now we know the full slate of opening round matches in The Last Time Is Now tournament, but there still isn’t a bracket.
Are you disappointed that R-Truth’s balls weren’t picked in The Last Time Is Now tournament? Did you expect there to be more than just two surprise entrants?
Let me know in the comments below if you think GUNTHER looks like the big favorite to go all the way in this tournament and face Cena in the final match of his WWE career.
