The Nebraska Girls’ State Basketball is this weekend and for the first time in 48 years, my hometown Queen Bees are going to be in the tournament. This is super exciting, I have not seen the team play, but hope to get to a game this week.
Back in my day the early 00’s, which seems like it was five years ago and not over twenty years ago, we were lucky to win more than two games a year. This is probably mostly due to my athletic prowess. You know I did score five points in my final game, so take that
as you may.
Anyway, I am extra excited for the team and the town. It just really makes you feel your age when several of the girls on the team have parents that were in high school with you.
