After getting into the area, Alonso Gonzlaez got off a left footed shot that was saved by Acevedo.
Chivas returned home after two away matches to get another commanding victory over a struggling team. They came into the match heavily favored against a struggling last placed Santos and lived up to the expectations. After a dominating 1st half, Chivas failed to live up to that level in the 2nd but only because Santos started to get physical and they never weren’t clear the better team. Chivas will have a great chance to get three points when they face off against another struggling team at home in Club Leon. Santos will have to face off against another struggling team in Puebla as they hope to get out of that last place in the standings.
