One of the more underrated position battles going into training camp will be between safeties Jordan Battle and Kyle Dugger. Battle was once viewed as a promising young safety when he first started getting playing time. However, like most of the defenders recently for the Bengals, he has fallen off a bit.
It is also becoming decision time for Cincinnati with Battle. He is set to hit free agency this offseason. Dugger came to the Bengals on a one-year contract as well. Fans may be jumping at the chance
to have Battle replaced, but it is important to remember Dugger is on his third team in three years. He has had his own fall from grace.
It feels like Battle will be given every opportunity to keep his job while playing with a better supporting cast around him, but he is far from a sure bet to be the starter over Dugger.
