As the Seattle Seahawks enjoy the right to call themselves world champions, having handily dispatched the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl 60, they are also working on building out the roster that will defend that title on the field in 2026.
With the heart of free agency now in the rear view mirror, and the fifth-year options of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon having been officially exercised, the primary focus for fans and observers in the coming weeks will, undoubtedly, be the 2026
NFL Draft.
However, this is the time of year when those free agents who did not find a home in the frenzied first few days of free agency learn which teams are interested in their services and where they will be in training camp competing for a roster spot in 2026. For wide receiver Cody White, that answer came this week when he agreed to return to the Seahawks, and now thanks to NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston, we know the details of the contract to which the two sides agreed.
That’s about as simple a contract as there can be for a player of White’s experience, as $1.145M is the minimum salary for a player with three credited seasons. Thus, White seems all but assured to be in competition as one of the depth receivers who also sees significant special teams snaps in the fall, a roster spot that could be easier to earn in 2026 given the departure of Dareke Young and pending the decision of the team on whether or not to match the offer sheet Jake Bobo signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
