Newcastle United returns from the international break on Monday night with a trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena to face recently-promoted Coventry City in the Premier League.
Matthias Jaissle’s side entered the break on the back of a 2-1 win over Hull City, restoring some momentum after the 4-1 defeat at Leeds, and Newcastle now has the chance to record back-to-back league victories for the first time this season.
Coventry finally earned its first Premier League win of the season before the break,
beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 after losing its opening four league matches without scoring. Newcastle has won the last seven meetings between the clubs, although this will be their first matchup since 2010.
