The Wisconsin Badgers had a major commitment in the summer when 2026 four-star running back Amari Latimer verbally pledged to the program after an official visit. It was the first blue-chip recruit that the Badgers got in the class, which wasn’t as strong as their 2024 and 2025 groups.
However, as Wisconsin has struggled this year, there has been growing concern about the Badgers keeping Latimer’s pledge, with the Ohio State Buckeyes showing serious interest in the Georgia native.
Latimer took an official
visit to Ohio State in early October and is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday for their home game against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Wisconsin had pushed its chips all in for Latimer, electing not to hold official visits for other running backs it recruited. But, with uncertainty around Latimer’s recruitment, the Badgers have started to look at other recruits.
The Badgers offered FIU commit and three-star running back Qwantavius Wiggins earlier this week, and now plan to host him for an official visit next weekend when they host the Washington Huskies.
Wiggins is currently on an official visit to Florida State and also has an official visit scheduled for the end of November at Auburn.
Wisconsin is going to have quite an eventful last month with its 2026 recruiting class, bringing a ton of late targets to campus with hopes of adding to the group before National Signing Day.
Wiggins could be a part of that mix at the running back position.
