In the ring, Cody Rhodes is fearless — he’s leaped off cages and gone through flaming tables. But ask him who his dream opponent is today, and suddenly, he’ll give you an answer wrapped in bubble wrap.
The former Undisputed WWE Champion took to X on Thursday for an impromptu Q&A after revealing that his bus had broken down. One fan asked Rhodes to name one person, past or present and from any company, whom he would choose as his opponent.
Rhodes began by addressing the past.
“Dusty’s rogue gallery.
All of them,” the ex-champ wrote, referring to his father Dusty’s past rivals.
When it came to the now, Rhodes took a safe turn, writing, “Presently though… too many to choose from.”
Well, that’s one way to ensure guys like Punk, Reigns, the incomparable Jack Perry, and others don’t get their feelings in a bunch wondering why QB1 didn’t throw one of their names into the mix.
Regardless, that Rhodes took time to chat with fans about his favorite ring attire, his appearance in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, and his favorite states to visit and wrestle in is pretty cool.
As for his tour bus, he assured fans that he will make tonight’s WWE live event in Manchester, New Hampshire. In a WrestleMania 42 rematch, Rhodes faces Randy Orton in what’s advertised as part of a triple main event at SNHU Arena. The action begins at 7:30 p.m. local time.
