Juventus are reportedly preparing an ambitious offer to try and sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, according to Juve-Live.
The proposed deal could include midfielder Teun Koopmeiners plus €50 million
in cash as part of a player-swap package designed to test Newcastle’s resolve and Tonali’s resistance to a return home.
Tonali, 25, remains a top priority for the Turin club as they look to rebuild their midfield. The Italian international’s performances in the Premier League have continued to draw attention across Europe, and Juventus believe a combination of money and a ready-made replacement could tempt Newcastle to negotiate a deal.
Koopmeiners, who joined Juventus from Atalanta in 2024, has struggled to establish himself as a key player and is now considered expendable. Juventus officials reportedly view the Dutchman as a useful makeweight if it helps land Tonali, whose technical and tactical prowess fits the club’s long-term vision.
However, the report claims Tonali himself may not be enthusiastic about the move, as the midfielder is said to prefer a return to AC Milan — the club he grew up supporting — should he ever decide to go back to Serie A.
That preference could complicate Juventus’ pursuit even if Newcastle were to consider the financial merits of the offer, and the fact that Koopmeiners has struggled in Italy’s Serie A isn’t much more promising in terms of convincing the Magpies brass to sanction the swap-and-cash.
