Barcelona are set to face Albacete in the quarter-finals of the 2025-26 Copa del Rey after being paired with Alberto Gonzalez’s side in Monday’s draw.
Albacete have already pulled off the biggest shock of the tournament so far this season, by knocking out Real Madrid in Alvaro Arbeloa’s first game in charge, and now take on the holders.
Meanwhile, Hansi Flick’s side have beaten Guadalajara and Racing on their way to the last eight and will now continue the defence of their trophy in February.

Betancor, Albacete’s match-winner against Los Blancos is already looking forward to taking on the Catalan giants.
“We’re going to give it our all. I think we’re going to put a lot of heart and enthusiasm into it. It’s an exciting match,” he said.
“We’re going to leave everything on the field to try and advance. It’s going to be tough, they’re a great team. But we already showed that against Real Madrid. We’re going to try.”
The quarter-final ties are due to take place between Tuesday, February 3 and Thursday, February 5. The games are still one-legged affairs, with extra-time and penalties to be used if matches finish all square after 90 minutes.
