The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to d all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name! Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Ezek, Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Kung_Fu_Zizou
Better Days are Coming
Darkest before the dawn. The club is what it is. We take the good with the bad. It will never be smooth. The good fortune of the previous era was a combination order and chaos. The club brought in and retained world class talents
and fumbled their way into success by finding the right manager for the job. This will always be the case with the current regime.
This is a regime that hires poster boys instead of actual managers to manage the team. Xabi was a poster boy, he didn’t know it. Arbeloa seems to know this. Ancelotti knew this and even Zizou knew this. Mourinho was unique and that ended with a dressing room fallout as well.
Benitez didn’t know this and we saw how that ended.
Every great manager you dream would coach this club will be a poster boy and not a manager who brings new ideas to help the team be more consistent and bring in an era of dominance. Get those thoughts out of your mind.
