Spurs have spent more time recently focusing on outgoings than incomings, though clearly Spurs are working on bringing some offensive players through the door in the time that remains of the summer transfer window. Today’s news is another outgoing — Tottenham Hotspur have now made it official that winger Manor Solomon has officially been sold to West Ham United.
I’ve belabored this signing enough and I’m done talking
about Solomon, his time at Spurs, the manner (Manor?) of which he arrived at the club, and his future within the Tottenham Hotspur first team. He was here, he got injured, he went out on loan a bunch of times, and three consecutive Spurs head coaches said he wasn’t in their plans. Now he’s gone.
There’s no word on the transfer fee in the official announcement (there rarely is) but the last time we checked in it was looking like the fee was £5m with another possible £5m in contractual clauses based on appearances and performance. That’s not a lot, but considering Spurs picked him up from Shakhtar Donetsk on a free transfer it’s more than what we paid for him. It’s fine.
Anyway, this is a done deal. Add it to the list.
