The full Rutgers men’s basketball Big Ten schedule has been released, this time including the times and TV stations for each matchup. Rutgers will be looking to take a step forward from its 14-20 record last season with a roster that was significantly overhauled in the transfer portal. Some of that will be without head coach Steve Pikiell, who underwent successful surgery for a cancer diagnosis and will be going through treatment during the season. Assistant head coach Brandin Knight will take over responsibilities
in the meantime.
Same as last year, the Knights will play three opponents both home and away: Penn State, Maryland, and Purdue. Rutgers ’ non-conference games in the Players Era Tournament and against Seton Hall will be good benchmarks for what the team looks like this season, while the three matchups against Penn State and Maryland during the final five games of the season provide the Knights with a good opportunity to pick up some wins late in the year.
