Washington State hits the road this weekend for their ninth game of the season as they play the San Diego State Aztecs.
For their Halloween matchup in classy San Diego, the Cougars will be wearing a uniform combo never worn before.
It’s a white helmet, white jersey, and crimson pants. WSU has only done this color pairing once all the way back in 2017 in a loss at Arizona. Though that uniform combo was paired with a crimson facemask as opposed to the white facemask WSU is wearing
this weekend. This will be the 57th different combo WSU has worn since 2017.
Across the board for 2026, the white helmet makes its fourth appearance this season, the second time it’s being paired with a white facemask. The crimson pants are making their second straight appearance and fourth appearance this season as well. It should be noted that in WSU’s lone win this season, they wore a white helmet with crimson pants. Maybe this turns the luck around.
Overall, the white helmet with white facemask is 9-12 since debuting in 2015, the white jerseys are 18-35 since 2017 and the crimson pants are 20-19 since 2017 following the loss last week.
