The Philadelphia Eagles have been able to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX win for the past seven months, but there was one thing left to do: hang a championship banner to rafters at Lincoln Financial Field. They unveiled the latest symbol of their big win on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys in the Week 1 season opener.
The wind teased the beautiful addition ahead of the official ceremony, and it looks very similar to the one from 2017.
Head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters earlier in the week that the team wouldn’t be on the field for the pre-game revelry — which isn’t really surprising given the timing of it. Plus, the team wasn’t on the field for the first Super Bowl banner back in 2018, either, so it’s in line with precedent.
As fun as this celebration is, it’s made even better that they get to remind the Cowboys that the Eagles are reigning Super Bowl Champions — and that Dallas Sucks.
