In the wake of the L.A. Rams’ 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, hot and lukewarm takes about the state of the franchise have been rolling in like California wildfires. The people at the center of those opinions are mostly the stars of the team like Matthew Stafford, Sean McVay, Myles Garrett, and Davante Adams. Is it a blip or an omen?
That’s an answer to unwrap over the course of the next four games, at least, but in the meantime the best place to go for explanations is to the people who know
the Rams the best:
Rams fans.

“Here’s something else about player execution: every single fan on this site could be a hall of fame coach if the players on the field perfectly executed the called play every single time. Actual good coaches are able to recognize the probability of success of the plays they call so that they can maximize their team’s chances of successfully pulling off a play. If its 3rd down with 2 yards to go, and a running play has an 80% chance of success and a passing play has a 40% chance of success, the running play should be called. If the coach calls the passing play, and the play doesn’t succeed, he shouldn’t excuse the bad call by blaming the players for not executing.”
