As the Chicago Bears prepare for their 11th game of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the first official team injury reports for week 12 have been released.
Altogether, six Bears were
listed as DNP (did not practice) on Wednesday, including: DB Jaquan Brisker (shoulder), DB Kevin Byard III (rest), LB Tremaine Edmunds (groin), LB T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring), DL Grady Jarrett (rest), and LB Noah Sewell (elbow).
Seven more Bears were listed as limited: OL Drew Dalman (knee), DB Kyler Gordon (calf), RB Travis Homer (hamstring/knee), DB Jaylon Johnson (groin), DB Tyrique Stevenson (hip/calf), RB D’Andre Swift (hip), and OL Darnell Wright (pectoral).
Both Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon continue to work back from their injuries after having their 21-day practice windows opened. T.J. Edwards remains unable to practice, unfortunately, as we have been monitoring his status closely. A return by Edwards would be a boon to the Bears’ run defense.
Tremaine Edmunds was a new name this week on the Wednesday injury report as far as a DNP listing goes, as was Noah Sewell (we saw him sustain an injury in Sunday’s game at Minnesota).
Brisker was able to work back from his injury last week in order to play at Minnesota, and we’ve seen both Jarrett and Byard get time to rest on Wednesdays before this season (including last week).
The Steelers injury report was shorter than Chicago’s. Listed as DNP were: QB Aaron Rodgers (wrist), RB Jaylen Warren (ankle), LB Alex Highsmith (pectoral), TE Jonnu Smith (rest), LB T.J. Watt (rest), and DT Cameron Heyward (rest).
Practicing in a limited capacity for Pittsburgh were G Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) and WR Ke’Shawn Williams (concussion). CB Darius Slay (concussion) and LB Cole Holcomb (illness) were full participants.
Or course, all eyes will be on Rodgers and whether or not he ends up getting the go-ahead to play on Sunday against the Bears. Reports have indicated that he is pushing to play, though he was unable to practice on Wednesday.
The Bears take on the Steelers this Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago. The game takes place at 12:00 p.m. (Chicago time).
