Well, my rooting interests are clear starting Friday. Let’s go, Blue Jays! Beat the Dodgers.
This will be a matchup between the number one and number five payrolls in MLB. More fuel to the revenue sharing/salary
cap/salary floor talks, I guess.
There were some fun moments for former Guardians in the game, including the opening RBI from Josh Naylor, his amazing cleats, and his bizarre attempt to break up a double play with his head. Andres Gimenez offered a traditional Guardians’ sacrifice bunt before the George Springer go-ahead home run in the 7th. Ernie Clement got another big hit in the 8th off of Seattle’s best reliever but then committed a bit of a TOOTBLAN on a line drive. Great postseason for Ernie, though; good for him.
We’ve got a week-10 days before there should be some more news to discuss trickling out. But, for now, it’s almost all about TOR-LA for a while.
Quincy did a thorough preview of names the Guardians could potentially target in trades this offseason, so be sure to check that out here.
