Today, there was plenty of good news for the Buffalo Bills. Everyone except Christian Benford was back to practice. But even better than that, every one of those players with the exception of one was out of the non-contact jersey today.
Here’s what changed since yesterday:
- Ray Davis was listed with a hamstring injury for the first time, but was still a full participant.
- Joe Andreesen was back to practice going from a DNP to limited
- Keon Coleman was back to practices going from DNP to a limited participant
- TJ Sanders, who was recovering from last week’s appendectomy, went from a DNP to a limited participant
- Deone Walker went from being limited yesterday to being a full participant today.
Here’s what didn’t change:
- DJ Moore, who was the only (non-QB, non-kicker) player in a red non-contact jersey, was still limited
- Christian Benford is still not practicing as he deals with a toe injury he suffered in Sunday’s game.
- Damar Hamlin was limited both Wednesday and Thursday with a rib injury.
Here’s what all that most likely means:
Christian Benford won’t suit up on Sunday. You can bet on that one. DJ Moore will – like Josh Allen, the nine-year
veteran doesn’t miss games. In fact, Moore hasn’t missed a game since 2020 – and has only missed two games in his entire career. Sanders is my only question mark. It will just be a matter of how his body responds to the activity level of practicing and playing. Surgery recovery is no joke.
As for the New England Patriots, things aren’t looking up. Not one player who was listed yesterday had an improved status today. In fact, their only changes were of the negative variety.
- Reggie Gilliam, the former Buffalo fullback, was downgraded from limited to a non-participant on Thursday
- Channing Canada popped up as limited with a hamstring injury. Not great news for a defensive secondary that’s already going to be missing Christian Gonzalez on Sunday.
