While there are reasons to be optimistic about the Cleveland Browns heading into the 2026 season, they still have a realistic ceiling on what they can accomplish. The Browns went 5-12 last season largely due to struggles on offense. The team enters this season with plenty of changes, from a new coaching staff and revamped offensive line to the departure of Myles Garrett and the return of Deshaun Watson. Given all of this, what is a realistic ceiling for the team this season?
Most projections and betting
lines have Cleveland finishing with 4-5 wins, but if things go right, they can certainly outpace that. The Browns have the easiest strength of schedule in 2026 by many metrics. So while there are many questions about the Browns’ offense, many of their opponents have issues on either side of the ball as well. Opponents like the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Indianapolis Colts all have similar questions about their quarterbacks, which allows Cleveland to sneak in some wins.
The AFC North is always a competitive division, but even in some of the Browns’ toughest seasons, they have managed to squeak out a few division wins. Given all of these possibilities, it is not out of the question for Cleveland to reach nine wins this season. This best-case scenario could have them in the playoff conversation late into the season, which would be a welcome result for Browns fans.
