(#9)Notre Dame at (#22)Pitt
Noon, ABC
College GameDay is heading to Pittsburgh in a game not many had on their radar a month ago. Pitt is riding a five-game winning streak and hoping to knock Notre Dame
out of the playoffs by extending it to six. The Panthers have a history of upsetting highly-ranked teams under Pat Narduzzi, but they will need to slow down a high-powered Irish that features perhaps the nation’s best player in running back Jeremiyah Love. Prediction: Notre Dame-35, Pitt-27
(#11)Oklahoma at (#4)Alabama
3:30 p.m., ABC
Oklahoma knocked ‘Bama out of the playoffs with an upset in Norman last November. Now the Tide are looking to return the favor and hand the Sooners their third loss of the season. Both teams have capable offenses, but can be tepid when faced with a competent defense. Don’t expect too many points in Tuscaloosa in a game that should be a four-quarter fight.
Prediction: Alabama-20, Oklahoma-17
(#19)Virginia at Duke
3:30 p.m., ESPN2
This match-up would typically be buried most November Saturdays, but this year is different. Both teams are in a crowded ACC race, where five programs have just one conference loss heading into the home stretch. Virginia’s penchant for winning close games finally turned sour last week, as a late drive stalled inside the 10 in a loss to Wake Forest. Duke is also coming off a loss in a shootout against UCONN, but are still prominently in the race since only one of their four losses came in conference play. This game will provide some clarity to a conference race that seems destined to come down to several tiebreakers.
Prediction: Duke-27, Virginia-24
Florida at (#7)Ole Miss
7 p.m., ESPN
Lane Kiffin’s current program welcomes the program that really, really wants to snatch him away. Ole Miss will also be trying to avenge an upset that knocked them out of the playoff race in 2024. We’ll see what the Gators have left in their tank after a topsy-turvey season.
Prediction: Ole Miss-28, Florida-20
(#10)Texas at (#5)Georgia
7:30 p.m., ABC
The ‘Dawgs are a much more interesting team to watch these days. They no longer have the talent to outclass opponents, but are now merely a good team that knows how to win. Texas has shown similar resiliency as they keep finding ways to win despite being written off after two early losses and an offense that was stuck in neutral. The rematch of last year’s SEC Championship Game should be a hard-fought battle that comes down to the last drive.
Prediction: Georgia-23, Texas-20
