Conor McGregor and Max Holloway will come “Face 2 Face” ahead of UFC 329.
“Notorious,” who defeated “Blessed” by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 26 back in summer 2013, rematches the Hawaiian atop the T-Mobile Arena fight card on July 11 in Las Vegas, the bookend to International Fight Week as the promotion shifts gears from UFC White House to UFC 329.
There are two more UFC events before the Mac is back, but expect the marketing efforts to focus on “Notorious.”
“I listened to people throughout
the years say, ‘They were only kids back then,’” McGregor said during a live UFC White House interview. “Sorry. Holloway was only a kid back then, I was not. Max had his sixth UFC fight. He was my second. No disrespect, Max. You’re not going to lay a glove on me, and even if you do, I’m going to laugh in your face. It’s another world here against me, and it’s another world at this weight. I’m going to come out of this bout unscathed and in all glory. I’m going to come out of this fight unscathed and go again.”
Here’s the clip with Joe Rogan:
McGregor, 37, has not competed in roughly five years.
UFC 329 will also feature the Octagon debut of Olympic phenom Gable Steveson. In addition, Paddy Pimblett collides with Benoit Saint Denis in the lightweight co-main event, not long after bantamweight contenders Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista hook ‘em up for a spot in the 135-pound title chase.
