Bayern Munich will stay busy during the winter break as the club has scheduled an away friendly against Red Bull Salzburg:
FC Bayern will play a friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg on 6 January 2026
to prepare for the resumption of the 2025/26 season. Kick-off at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg is at 15:00 CET. The game will be broadcast exclusively live in Germany on FC Bayern TV PLUS. Information on how to watch in other countries will follow shortly.

Bayern played against the Austrian side in a friendly exactly a year ago on 6 January 2025 as well, winning 6-0 thanks to goals from Michael Olise (x2), Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Eric Dier and Jonathan Asp Jensen. This year’s meeting will see a reunion with FCB youth product Frans Krätzig, who joined Salzburg in the summer.
This should represent a good opportunity for Bayern Munich to shake off some rust and get back into the swing of things for what should be an incredible second half to this season.
