Surprise!
Early on in this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair was taken out in an attack backstage by Jade Cargill and her baddies. General Manager Nick Aldis made clear she wasn’t cleared and he was going to postpone her planned women’s tag team championship match alongside Tatum Paxley against Fatal Influence.
Flair was having none of it.
Instead, she insisted on Alexa Bliss, her usual tag team partner, stepping in for her. Bliss chose to do so, and Aldis agreed the match could
go ahead.
As I said at the top of the post: surprise!
They weren’t given a ton of time but they made the most of what they had, with the finish seeing Paxley hit Cemetery Drive to score the pinfall and the victory. This is her first major title win since joining the main roster.
What does it mean for Charlotte and the group as a whole?
Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, Jacy Jayne is now the only member of Fatal Influence holding gold.
