After dropping game one to Milwaukee, Auburn double dips them to win the Auburn regional and the right to host Ole Miss in the Super Regionals.
The Tigers and Rebels did not match up in the regular season, but Ole Miss did take 2 out of 3 in 2025 against the sixth ranked Tigers. It’s 2026 now and this Auburn offense is legit. Eight of their nine regular starters hit at least .284 with six of them hitting over .310. They also have four double digit home run hitters, led by Chase Fralick’s 20. While
Ole Miss can match the pop, Will Furniss is the only Rebel hitter north of .310 on the year.
The series will come down to pitching and Auburn’s starting staff has been quite good all year. Alex Petrovic and Jake Marciano will likely take the bump in the first two games of the series and both have WHIPs under 1.10. An ERA under 4.00 is good in college baseball and they sport a 3.19 and 3.32 respectively. Their bullpen features multiple relievers with sub-3.00 ERAs.
Ole Miss’ bullpen shined in the Nebraska regional but will need their starting rotation to be a little better in this one. Elliott has 5.21 ERA on the season and while Townsend has been great, he was extremely inefficient against Arizona State in the Regional Final. Taylor Rabe has shoved recently and it brings an interesting decision to coach Mike Bianco’s hand. Does he dare save Elliott for an “if-needed” game three? Rabe and Townsend have easily been the best two pitchers and should get consideration as the 1-2 punch here.
