Not only will the TCU Horned Frogs be without starting quarterback Josh Hoover, who has elected for the transfer portal, for the Alamo Bowl against USC, but the team will reportedly not have wide receiver Jordan Dwyer, who has apparently suffered a foot injury during practice. Chris Hummer of CBS Sports was first to report the news on Dwyer, who has 54 catches for 730 yards and seven touchdowns in his first season as a Horned Frog.
The Horned Frogs have about two weeks until they take on the Trojans, but should Dwyer be officially ruled out, he’ll end his season as TCU’s second-leading receiver behind All-American honoree Eric McAlister. Dwyer came to TCU after starting his collegiate career at Idaho, where he went for 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns on 78 catches in 2024 before signing with the Horned Frogs. Dwyer shined in his TCU debut against North Carolina, reeling in nine catches for 136 yards and one touchdown. The 6-foot, 195-pounder from Puyallup, Washington went over 100 yards three times this season, catching a season-best 11 balls for 108 yards against Iowa State.
