Gonzaga’s coaching staff has been recruiting their behinds off for the last month or so, and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
Gene Roebuck, the four-star small forward from La Mirada, California, will be in Spokane for the Zags’ season opener against Texas Southern on November 3rd and stay through the 4th for his unofficial visit. The 6-5, 180-pound prospect is the No. 48-ranked player in the 2027 recruiting class, per Rivals.
Roebuck is hearing mostly from Cal State Fullerton, UCLA, and USC. Seems likely he will look to stay out on the West Coast.
With La Mirada during his sophomore season, he averaged 19.0 points on 52 percent from the field, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game. Roebuck was named MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year the previous season.
Staying in the 2027 class, Gonzaga has already received a commitment from four-star guard Dooney Johnson from Milwaukee Juneau in Wisconsin. Coach Mark Few is looking further to the future of the program after already having landed three recruits in the 2026 class.
