Inter chief Guiseppe Marotta has shut down fresh rumors claiming Barcelona are set to reignite interest in defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Barcelona are in the market for a new center-back, with Hansi Flick admitting recently the club are hoping to do business in the winter window.
Bastoni’s name has been mentioned against, amid talk he’s refusing to sign a new contract at San Siro, but Marotta says he’s going nowhere.
“All the talk about Bastoni refusing to renew his contract and Barcelona negotiating
with him is completely false. We are always striving to keep Bastoni and protect him from the temptations of other clubs, as he is one of the main pillars of our project,” he told 365 Scores.
Bastoni’s current contract with Inter runs until 2028. There’s been speculation he is willing to listen to Barcelona but wants assurances from Hansi Flick that he is a priority for the Catalan giants.
