Get ready to wait all day for Sunday night.
The Green Bay Packers host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this evening in a game that will take place about a year and three weeks after the two teams met in prime time on NBC for their most recent matchup. That game was a wild one, a 40-40 final that saw the Packers kick the game-tying field goal on 4th-and-14 from the 16-yard line as time expired on the overtime period.
That tie ended up getting the Packers into the playoffs last year, as it
kept them a half-game up on the Vikings and Lions for the NFC’s #7 playoff spot. This year, however, Green Bay is hoping to get a win against this Cowboys team, even if the squads are expected to light up the scoreboard once again.
Here’s a statistical oddity for you: all 40 points that the Packers scored last year came from players who are not on the team’s active roster for this week. Romeo Doubs found the end zone three times, Josh Jacobs did so twice, and Brandon McManus did the rest with two field goals and a 4-for-5 day on extra points.
Who will step up for the Packers this evening? We’ll all have to tune in to find out. Here’s your Game Primer with all of the details on how and when to tune in.
