Kentucky Football has added a major piece to its future, landing a commitment from class of 2027 4-star quarterback Jake Nawrot.
The 6-4, 200-pound signal-caller out of Illinois made his commitment on Sunday after building momentum with the Wildcats throughout the spring, including a visit to Lexington in mid-March. Nawrot’s visit in March helped solidify his relationship with the coaching staff.
Nawrot had been one of Kentucky’s top quarterback targets in the 2027 class, with the coaching staff making
him a clear priority early in the recruiting cycle. His size, arm talent, and field vision make him an ideal fit for head coach Will Stein and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan’s system.
Nawrot is currently ranked as high as 32nd nationally and No. 2 among quarterbacks by Rivals, putting him on the cusp of 5-star status.
The Wildcats beat out strong competition from programs like Oregon and Iowa, with the latter having a unique connection as a legacy option for Nawrot. Still, Kentucky’s offensive vision and quarterback development track record proved to be a difference-maker.
This commitment continues Kentucky’s strong push in the 2027 recruiting class, particularly at the quarterback position. Nawrot becomes a cornerstone piece moving forward, as the Wildcats aim to build a dynamic future starting in the class of 2027.
With his combination of size, mobility, and upside, Nawrot gives Kentucky a quarterback to build around for the future and a major recruiting win early in the cycle.
