Cody Rhodes has seen his share of bad booking in his WWE career and beyond, but he’s managed to become one of the top babyfaces in all of pro wrestling anyway. He’s had plenty of great booking that played a big part in that as well, to be sure, but there have been some questionable calls along the way, calls that could sink lesser wrestlers.
But not QB1, the current WWE champion who has been headlining WrestleMania for years now as one of the top stars in the entire industry. As he put it on the most
recent episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, he can survive any creative that may not be the best for his character:
“I always tell people because people will say I don’t know if that’s good for you or you know, and I don’t know if I mean it arrogantly. I think I just mean it from my own experience. But what I tell them is I can survive it. That’s what I tell everyone. Michael Hayes has heard me say it a lot. Mr. Heyman’s heard me say it a lot, is I can survive it. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I felt like as a babyface, it’s becoming a powerful trait.”
It’s hard to argue the point there. He’s been surviving and thriving with everything he’s been given since he made his return to WWE a number of years ago. Why would he feel any other way?
Right?
