After reports are indicating that Bayern Munich has close a deal for Moroccan international Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, the Bavarians are also reportedly finalizing a deal to sign Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. Personal terms are already said to be completed and everything now is just about dotting the “i’s” and crossing the “t’s” before the young German defender joins the German Rekordmeister. The plans are for Saibari to have his medical in the United States while the World Cup
is still going on once a move is made official by both clubs.
It is expected that the fee for Bayern to complete the signing of Brown from Frankfurt will be €55 million on a deal that would keep him in Munich through 2031. For now, though, all of the focus is with the German national team and winning their matches at the World Cup for the left back, who was lauded by veteran center back Antonio Rüdiger in the buildup to Die Mannschaft’s second group stage match against the Ivory Coast in Toronto.
“Nene Brown? I don’t need to say much about him. I’m positively surprised. I saw how he shut down [Antoine] Semenyo in March. Very calm character off the pitch, but on the pitch he’s a monster. These young lads are already very far ahead for their age,” the Real Madrid defender said of Brown, making reference to his strong performance in Germany’s 2-1 friendly win over Ghana in Stuttgart back in March. At the time, Semenyo was really in a solid run of form with Manchester City just a few months after he had made the move from Bournemouth, but Brown shone quite well for himself against the tricky, physical winger.
In the 7-1 win over Curacao in Houston to kick off Germany’s World Cup campaign, Brown started and played 73 minutes before he was replaced by RB Leipzig’s David Raum for some well-deserved rest. He also scored Germany’s fifth of the seven goals and swung in the corner that Nico Schlotterbeck scored from when things were level at 1-1; having ultimately setup the winning goal before Julian Nagelsmann’s side scored five more unanswered. For Bayern fans, it was a preview of what’s to come in a red kit, but for the hardcore Bundesliga followers, it was just reaffirmation that the young left back is on the trajectory to become world class.
